…Tonight, the night didn’t fall… it took the throne.

In it, I can disappear without feeling lost.

The city keeps catching me in reflections, fragments at a time.

But I don’t have to be whole to have a place outside.

I pass windows the way you pass thoughts:

some lit, some dark

each one holding a life I will never enter.

Strangely, that doesn’t make me small

It makes me real.

I used to think solitude was absence

Now I see it as space

A place where I can meet myself

without having to explain what I’ve become.

The night isn’t kind

It isn’t cruel

It pulls back the day like a tide,

and the city shows its bones.

So, I keep walking

not to escape

not to arrive

until the street feels like it knows my name

without needing to say it.
